By living our Purpose, we will make an impact that matters.

What will your typical day look like?

The Assurance practice’s value statement, or more simply, why we exist, is to “Build and elevate trust to help create a more resilient and sustainable tomorrow.”

Within the Assurance practice, IT Audit & Assurance seeks to elevate Trust, Integrity and Confidence in Canadian organizations by Assuring and Advising on IT and emerging technology risks to help our clients achieve regulatory, internal and extended enterprise requirements and maximize their impact.

Within the IT Audit & Assurance (IT A&A) practice, you can expect to have a dynamic and exciting role that is full of challenges and opportunities to grow. You’ll develop and grow your skills through your work on client engagements. We perform audits of general IT controls as part of financial statement audits, and third-party assurance (such as SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits). A typical day might involve working with your team to assess technology processes and identifying areas of risk. You might then work with a client to execute an audit plan that addresses those risks and ensures compliance with the audit objectives. You could be involved in conducting fieldwork, which may include interviews with clients, reviewing documentation, and testing controls. This is where your analytical and problem-solving skills come into play, as you work to identify potential issues. You may also be responsible for drafting audit findings and discussing issues with management, which requires strong communication skills. You’ll hone your skills through plenty of on-the-job learning, coaching and support.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about controls, audit methodologies, business and IT operations and IT risk. While not mandatory, this role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience while working towards a CPA, CIA, or CISA designation. Our CPA program, Deloitte CPA Advantage, is recognized across Canada and is a leading program that helps CPA candidates with proprietary learning materials, personalized coaching, financial support and a professional designation cash bonus.

About the team

Our teams make a commitment to each other to foster a collaborative and supportive environment with quality, professional development, apprenticeship, mentorship, and wellness at the forefront of team delivery.  Our commitment to helping each other grow and develop is strong and intentional.

At Deloitte, your career path is flexible. You will support organizations of all sizes and in different industries to help them structure business transactions and perform better. Your initial role will provide you with a variety of experiences. You will work strategically with your team members to develop an understanding of the firm’s business and the clients you are serving. You will support organizations in different industries of all sizes to help them perform better and adapt to an ever-evolving future.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

In these roles, the expected qualifications are:

  • Demonstrated leader, who takes initiative, in and out of the work environment by utilizing interpersonal and team-building skills.

  • Outstanding communication skills, flexibility, humility, integrity, and professionalism.

  • Creative thinker, who’s excited by innovation and embraces change. Curious and committed to continuous learning and professional development.

  • Actively pursuing or holding a CPA designation is an asset, but not required.

  • Preferred areas of academic study/background: Business/Commerce/Accounting, Engineering/Computer Science or other related fields

  • Quebec office locations: We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,500. The salary for this role will be dependent on the location within the referenced salary range. Deloitte is fair and competitive when it comes to the salaries of our people. We regularly benchmark across a variety of positions, industries, sectors, targets, and levels. Our approach is grounded on recognizing people’s unique strengths and contributions and rewarding the value that they deliver.
