The Role at a Glance

The Reporting & Analytics Specialist will be a collaborative, solution-oriented team member that is passionate about enhancing data analytics and the reporting experience for varied user groups across Lincoln Financial Distributors.  They will take ownership of recurring analytic or reporting processes using a modern toolset that spans Tableau, Dataiku, MicroStrategy, PostgreSQL, and Python, while also assessing trends, automating manual work, and developing actionable insights and recommendations in support of business objectives.

What you'll be doing
  • Generating and distributing standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review by executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Acquiring and compiling structured and unstructured data and verifies its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
  • Acting as subject matter expert to respond to clients' questions on report generation, resolution of technical issues or application problems such as graph design spreadsheet formatting, software application functional questions.
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationship with appropriate clients and management to continually enhance understanding of client business and needs.
  • Researching and integrating new or existing technologies into workflows and processes.
  • Developing best practices and maintaining team procedure manual for all department procedures and reports. Identifying and communicating discrepancies to team members as needed and ensuring changes are accurately reflected in the manual. Maintaining reporting database.
  • Building and optimizing dashboards and self-service reporting solutions across the Tableau suite (Desktop, Prep, Server/Cloud) and MicroStrategy, and developing data preparation and automated workflows in Dataiku, with a focus on integrity, usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
  • Proficiency in working with data using SQL and PostgreSQL, and familiarity with modern cloud data warehouse structures, concepts, and data governance/quality practices; including structured and semi-structured data.
  • Automating recurring reporting processes using Python and SQL to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and improve scalability.
  • Exploring and applying AI/GenAI-assisted analytics tools to accelerate report generation, surface insights, and support dashboard development.
  • Carrying out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complying with all company and site policies and procedures.
What we're looking for

Must-haves:

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in management information systems, finance, econometrics, statistics or similar.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a reporting, analytical, and/or data role - or equivalent academic, internship, or project experience (e.g., relevant coursework, capstone projects).
  • Knowledge of suitable data analytic processes
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Basic proficiency in Python for data analysis and process automation.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence/dashboarding tools such as Tableau and MicroStrategy.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Dataiku or similar data preparation/workflow automation platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/GenAI tools applied to analytics and reporting workflows (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT-style assistants).
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms and data governance/quality practices.
  • Experience in the financial services domain

The pay range for this position is $55,700 - $100,200 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees.  In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual.  Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
