Job description

Mission Data Product Owner

The Opportunity:

As a defense mission professional, you ask questions others don't. You understand the nuances of complex situations. You use your skills to think bigger and push further, solving complex problems. We're looking for an expert like you to create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe.

As a Mission Data Product Owner, you'll provide support to client forces through data-fusion analysis and methodology development. You will integrate data from different defense business groups then leverage technology and rapid prototyping to illuminate entities and insights of interest. You'll analyze analytical methodologies tailored to customers who range from tactical to strategic levels, including actionable leads, complex written products, and formal or informal briefings. You'll use structured methodologies or techniques appropriate to the topic and apply specialized subject matter expertise to guide efforts. You'll be a trusted advisor to our clients, and we'll look to you to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes.


You'll guide the work we do to identify and facilitate the sharing of data with the client and mission partners via the client's Cloud architecture and web-based capabilities. You will work with the user community to gather feedback on capabilities to ensure capabilities meet mission requirements and gather insight into capability gaps and work with developers to improve upon existing capabilities and develop new capabilities.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experienceas a Product Owner or in an Agile role supporting development or data teams

  • Experience writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing product backlogs

  • Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Experience using project management tools such as Jira or Confluence and engaging with stakeholders at various levels

  • Knowledge of the data ingestion process, including the process of building data pipelines and the criteria for selecting and preparing data for ingest to a platform

  • Ability to communicate requirements, manage scope, and maintain alignment between stakeholder needs and team capacity

  • Ability to visualize, describe, and assess CWMD threats and hazards that impact mission execution

  • Ability to be proactive and operate in a dynamic environment

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supportingDoD intelligenceenvironments or supporting defense-related programs, including those related to CWMD

  • Experience working on classified systems

  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe

  • Knowledge of DoD CWMD policies, strategies, and doctrine

  • Knowledge of the operations planning process such as MDMP and JOPP

  • Ability to foster collaboration across various teams

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail

  • Possession of excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations or a related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
