Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to play a key role within our engine analytics team, fully on-site in Mossville, IL. In this role, you will contribute to the concept, development, and design of complex algorithms, analytical models, and applications that leverage product and telematics data. You will design, develop, and test predictive and prescriptive analytics tools to enhance engine performance, support engineering design, and deliver value-added insights for customers' engines, equipment, and job sites.
This role offers direct exposure to engine component health condition monitoring using ML/AI methods - a cutting-edge area with meaningful impact on product quality and customer outcomes. You will work collaboratively within a global team of 7 US-based and 12 India-based members in an office environment.
Key Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Execute data analytics projects end-to-end and present results clearly to internal customers.
  • Develop and publish dashboards and enhancements to digital tools; support adoption of DevOps processes.
  • Build Machine Learning models for engine health condition monitoring.
  • Develop data mining processes and tools for engine data collection, aggregation, feature extraction, analytics modeling, and reliability/durability forecasting to support engineering design, simulation, CPI, and NPI.
  • Identify opportunities to solve problems through analytical models; quickly research and apply new analytics techniques and algorithmic approaches to meet customer requirements.
  • Work within Agile and digital NPI processes; communicate complex technical findings in a concise and accurate manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer/Analytics), Computer Science, or a related field required. Master's degree accepted with a minimum of 6 months of relevant internship experience.
  • Internship experience may be counted toward the required years of experience. Associate's degree does not meet the education requirement.

  • Proficiency in Python and/or SQL for data processing and analytics.
  • Hands-on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence experience.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Computing or equivalent cloud platform.
Required Technical Skills

  • Experience working with various databases and cloud computing environments.
