ANEW is a nonprofit organization with a mission of building people, building communities. Founded in 1980, ANEW has a unique and successful reputation for assisting underserved populations into apprenticeship and family wage careers. ANEW is focused on changing the culture and demographics of industries that have historically not been diverse or inclusive.
POSITION TITLE: Outreach and Recruitment Specialist
The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing ANEW's recruitment strategy to maintain a strong pipeline of qualified applicants and ensure pre-apprenticeship and training cohorts meet enrollment goals. The position will lead day-to-day recruitment activities and coordinate the work of recruitment staff, with a particular focus on increasing access and participation among women and other populations historically underrepresented in the skilled trades.Collaboration is key, as the Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will coordinate with leadership, staff, and clients to ensure all outreach and partner relationships goals are met. The position will also involve supervisory duties over outreach and community engagement volunteer(s). Outreach activities include but are not limited to attending job fairs and community events, creating collaborative referral partnerships, and forming relationships with labor organizations and construction partners. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will also support the efforts to build relationships with identified apprenticeships, community organizations, and other non-profit or government programs. The Outreach and Recruitment Specialist will work closely with program staff as a team with shared goals to support outcomes of ANEW programs. Strong relationship management skills will be essential in maintaining partnerships, Digital competency, and proficiency using social media platforms, running targeted digital campaigns and overseeing data entry accuracy in software programs like Salesforce and Excel are expected.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create collaborative referral partnerships with, but not limited to, schools/school districts, skills centers, pre-apprenticeship programs, and districts that have established apprenticeship preparation programs.

Perform outreach to state and local entities, non-profits, Industry affiliates, High Schools, post- secondary institutions, and eligible youth.

Supervise outreach and recruitment volunteers or interns.

Conduct statewide virtual and in-person presentations.

Attend outreach/networking events.

Connect with community service organizations to educate and inform about services provided by ANEW
Provide students with information about apprenticeship programs.
Distribute marketing materials.
Supervise outreach and recruitment staff members, volunteers, interns, and/or student volunteers.

Ensure programmatic standards are being met, and recruitment metrics are being met or exceeded consistently.

Provide potential students and/or partners with information about services provided by ANEW.

Assist the marketing team with development of presentations and marketing materials which will engage the target population.

Create targeted social media posts/graphics in order to serve the community engagement and recruitment goals of the organization.

Build referral pipelines with high schools, school districts, colleges, workforce programs, community-based organizations, government agencies, apprenticeship programs, employers, and other partners.

Manage and supervise the data entry on the different software programs, ensuring accuracy, and timeliness. (Salesforce, excel sheets, etc.)

Coordinate targeted digital recruitment campaigns, including social media, email, web-based outreach, and other appropriate channels.

Attend and participate in webinars and training locally, regionally, and nationally.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years' experience working in outreach, recruitment, communications, admissions, support service, or similar role is required.

Associate's degree or higher required, Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, human services or related discipline is highly preferred.

This position requires flexibility beyond ANEW's regular business hours. Evening and weekend work and regular local/regional travel are required based on recruitment activities and program needs.

Proficiency in Microsoft office is required; Salesforce experience is highly desirable.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
Must provide documents that verify identity and employment authorization within 3business days of employment

  • Valid U.S. Driver's license, proof of insurability, and a satisfactory MVR is required.- Driving is a requirement of this role.


WORK LOCATION: ANEW Tukwila Training Center and Satellite locations as assigned, regular travel is expected. WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Regular workweek is 40 hours, Office hours are 8a-4p Mon-Fri however this position's hours will vary, with at least 20% of time working will be on evenings or weekends. Often weekend or evening hours will exceed 20%.
Compensation
This position is paid as a non-exempt, hourly position with a starting pay range of $31.00- $32.90 per hour.
BENEFITS
The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits. A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of 20% of monthly premiums per month for employee coverage. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401k after one year of employment. ANEW Employees will not be permitted to use paid vacation or sick leave until successful completion of their 90-day probationary period.
