Andritz Canada - Hydro Division is offering a fall internship within its field engineering teams for hydroelectric projects, including projects of small, medium, and high complexity.

This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge within a leading company in the hydroelectric field. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects, collaborating with seasoned experts.  The practical and on the field experience gained during the internship will contribute to the development of your mechanical design skills and understanding of engineering processes.

What your day-to-day will look like:

The Site Quality Assurance Intern is mobilised to one of our job sites in Canada. In collaboration with the site supervisor, the incumbent ensures superior quality of our equipment's installation by following the installation manuals, standards and rigorous processes. The incumbent will be working in a team which consists of Site Manager, Supervisors, administrators, Quality Assurance specialists and Health-Safety-Environment officer. The size of the team and the duration of the site vary depending on the project scope.The role is a mix of working in the site office documenting the work and working directly on the site to ensure work is performed as expected. 

Among other duties, the main responsibilities for this intern role are as follows:

    Implement and maintain Andritz Quality Assurance System on site; 

    Ensure quality requirements are followed at site according to Installation Manuals; 

    Local contact with customer and authorities for all quality matters;

    Inspections follow-up according to Inspection & Test Plans (ITP);

    Reception of material at site with inventory database and tracking system; 

    Perform and/or witness inspections in coordination with customer and site team; 

    Initiate and follow-up on non-conformities; 

    Collect quality records and elaborate final quality documentation;

    Collaborate with Installation Supervisors to ensure work is performed in compliance with Installation Manuals requirements; 

    Contribute to overall quality and excellence in execution of Engineered Machinery projects. 

What you need to succeed:

The ideal candidate should be willing to work in a complex, fast-paced environment, with evolving priorities. Result and solution-oriented candidates who follow through with ideas and commitments will perform well within ANDRITZ. As our projects have large scopes and often require years to be completed, your perseverance will be valued with us.

    Student enrolled in bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering;  

    Passion for Quality and integrity; 

    General knowledge on mechanical measurement devices; 

    Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings; 

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); 

    Knowledge of AutoCAD an asset; 

    Practical knowledge of 3D measuring equipment, an asset; 

    On site Safety training an asset; 

    Effective communication skills (oral and written); 

    Self-driven, resourceful, rigorous; 

    Ability to analyze data; 

    Willingness to travel and flexible with work schedule.
