POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Data Center Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of data center facilities across a regional portfolio. This leader will drive operational excellence through strong leadership in project management, client relations, and market development. This role ensures high standards in safety, security, financial performance, materials management, and service delivery. This position provides strategic direction, supports organizational growth, and guides managers in achieving operational goals while maintaining efficiency and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring deadlines are met and uptime is maintained
  • Collaborate proactively with clients on data center infrastructure initiatives
  • Manage technical operations including MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), HVAC, security, and facility systems
  • Foster a culture of safety, security, compliance, and transparency
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Establish and enforce quality standards across teams
  • Direct operations and engineering personnel to ensure adherence to processes and procedures
  • Conduct audits of maintenance procedures (MOPs), SOPs, and change management activities
  • Monitor and report operational metrics to track performance and efficiency
  • Coordinate activities across multiple sites and drive issue resolution
  • Contribute to client solutions, including cost estimates and efficiency improvements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Provide oversight across Environmental Health & Safety, Security, Finance, and Regional Operations

  • Cooling systems and HVAC
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Understanding of redundancy configurations and system limitations
  • Experience in multi-tenant data center environments
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability in time management, planning, and prioritization

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety of temperatures inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure

The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$140,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
