Job description

Mauldin & Jenkins is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate IT Auditor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career in the dynamic field of IT audit and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will assist in evaluating IT infrastructure, application controls, and security processes to ensure they align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. You will work alongside senior auditors to identify risks and provide recommendations to strengthen our technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of IT audits, including assessments of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Document and evaluate the design and effectiveness of controls for key systems and processes.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify potential risks, control weaknesses, and instances of non-compliance.
  • Assist in preparing audit workpapers and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
  • Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations with various business and IT stakeholders.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and potential security threats.
  • Completing relevant certifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and a strong understanding of professional ethics.

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Relevant internship or co-op experience in IT audit, information security, or a related field.
  • Holding or actively pursuing certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • This position is based in our Chattanooga, Tennessee office and is not a remote role.
  • Must be willing and able to travel for client engagements, with travel estimated at 10-12 weeks per year.
