(DUIT) is a woman-owned small business (WOSB), minority-owned small business information technology consulting company headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland that provides Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and PKI services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC), is seeking the best and brightest retiring or transitioning military service branch members to participate in our internship program and join our award winning team.

We are seeking a part-time Proposal Writer Intern to support the DUIT Business Development and Capture team in creating compelling and compliant proposals for DoD and federal agency opportunities. This internship is offered through the DoD SkillBridge Program for transitioning service members.


What you Will get to do:

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing proposal responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Sources Sought notices.

Translate technical military concepts into clear, concise, and persuasive language for proposal submission.

Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical staff to gather and synthesize content.

Participate in proposal reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality and compliance.

Support the organization and formatting of proposal volumes, appendices, and related materials.

Research past performance and agency-specific requirements to ensure tailored responses.

Gain exposure to federal acquisition processes and industry-standard proposal development methodologies.

Qualifications you Bring:

Bachelors degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field, or relevant professional or military experience.

Familiarity with the DoD acquisition process and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

Excellent written communication and technical writing skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and PowerPoint.

Professional demeanor and a collaborative attitude.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Experience with government proposal writing or support.

Understanding of Shipley or similar proposal development methodologies.

Knowledge of cyber security, IT services, or other technical domains is a plus.

NOTE: This position is open only to active-duty service members eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program. Approval from your unit commander is required before the internship begins.
