JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Art Director plays a critical leadership role in bringing the Weissman brand to life across print, digital, social, email, photography, and integrated marketing campaigns. This role transforms creative direction into visually compelling concepts, polished execution, and high-impact customer experiences that support both brand storytelling and business growth. Working closely with Creative Directors, cross-functional teams, and creative talent, the Senior Art Director helps shape campaigns from concept through final delivery while ensuring consistency, quality, and strong visual execution across every touchpoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop campaign concepts and visual approaches aligned with approved creative direction
  • Translate creative briefs, product priorities, and marketing goals into compelling design solutions and executable creative work
  • Create mood boards, mockups, presentations, and concept decks that communicate campaign direction and storytelling
  • Oversee design execution across print and digital deliverables to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with brand standards
  • Provide guidance on layout, typography, imagery, storytelling, and overall visual presentation
  • Directly manage Associate Graphic Designers, Graphic Designers, and Graphic Design Interns
  • Assign work, balance team workload, provide coaching, and support creative development across the team
  • Partner closely with copy, marketing, e-commerce, merchandising, production, photography, and styling teams throughout project development
  • Provide on-set photo direction and support imagery selection to ensure campaign consistency and strong product storytelling
  • Present creative work to stakeholders and communicate design decisions clearly and strategically
  • Help improve creative workflows, processes, and team best practices
  • Stay current on trends in design, retail, dance, apparel, and fashion to bring fresh and relevant ideas to the work

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience may be considered

Experience:
  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience in graphic design or art direction within an agency, retail, brand, or in-house creative environment
  • Experience developing integrated campaigns across both print and digital channels
  • Experience with e-commerce and catalog creative preferred
  • Experience leading or managing designers preferred
  • Experience providing on-set photo direction preferred

Knowledge, Skills + Abilities:
  • Advanced understanding of design principles, typography, layout, imagery, and visual storytelling
  • Strong concepting abilities with the ability to translate creative briefs into strategy-driven, brand-right work
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and collaborative/project management tools
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide constructive creative direction and feedback that elevates both work quality and team development
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, adapt quickly, and maintain quality under shifting priorities
  • Strong understanding of production requirements and best practices across print and digital formats
  • Interest in dance, dance studio operations, apparel, or fashion preferred
