This role allows nursing interns to gain hands-on experience providing healthcare to incarcerated individuals under the supervision of experienced nurses and medical staff. Duties may include conducting health assessments, administering medications, responding to medical emergencies, and educating inmates about health and wellness. The internship helps nurses develop specialized skills needed for the unique challenges of correctional healthcare while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
