Job description

To learn Real Estate operations, and culture and assist in the completion of projects throughout the summer. This internship is paid and is based on a 40-hour work week. Overtime is available only with prior approval. Interns will go through a 1-2 week training and orientation effort, and will then be assigned projects to complete. Students will shadow leaders and mentors to learn the business. During the internship, students will be expected to give monthly updates to their respective Real Estate leadership team and senior leaders as needed. Upon completion of their internship, students will present their findings to a department leadership and various members of the executive leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform related duties in support of project efforts in areas of project prioritization
  • Assist and support Old Dominion Real Estate team in prioritization and execution of projects
  • Assist with the preparation of documentation, training, and support of various systems
  • Collaborate with team members to support all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Document technical specifications that support the development, testing, and deployment of new technologies and applications
  • Participate in defining, implementing, managing processes, and translating business requirements into technical design documentation

Job Qualifications

Education:

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree Program

Experience:

  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Familiarity with general commercial construction means and methods.
  • Familiarity with general asset accounting principles and practices. A basic knowledge of cash flow, forecasting, and accrual practices is critical.
  • Advanced proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications specifically, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
