itle: Corporate Tax Manager
Locations: Boston, MA 02109 or Hartford, CT, 
Hybrid (Min. 3 days/week in office or at client site)
Salary: $121,000–$170000/year
You'll lead corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 income tax accounting (provision prep or audit support), and business income tax planning for large multi-state/national/global clients. Collaborate with our Corporate Tax Solutions team and Washington National Tax Office (WNTO) to deliver exceptional service, manage engagements, and drive client success.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead client engagements end-to-end: plan, execute, direct tax projects, and manage budgets.
Supervise, train, and mentor senior associates, associates, and interns; conduct performance reviews.
Review tax returns for accuracy and tax-saving opportunities; perform primary ASC 740 provision reviews.
Research tax matters, respond to IRS/state inquiries, and leverage tax software for returns.
Build client relationships, identify upsell opportunities, and ensure confidentiality and professional standards.
Attend training and stay current on US GAAP, corporate tax laws, state/local taxes, international taxation, and transfer pricing.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
4-7+ years of progressive tax compliance/consulting experience (ideally at Manager level with 1-2 years or experienced Senior Associate ready for promotion).
Active CPA (MA state) or JD/active law license.
Corporate tax experience supporting large companies; strong ASC 740 skills (prep, review, audit).
Public accounting background with a top 15 firm or large regional firm (recent experience preferred).
Proficiency in US GAAP, corporate income tax, state/local taxes, international activity, and transfer pricing.
Excellent analytical, technical, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Willingness to work hybrid (min. 3 days in office/client site); stable job history (no hopping every 1-2 years in last 10 years).
Preferred Skills:
Onesource Tax Provision (OTP) software experience.
Open to any industry background.
