Are you looking for a career as a Lab Associate?   Look no further than BJC!  This position is in processing. Join our Core Laboratory team to be an integral part of delivering precise and reliable laboratory results that impact patient outcomes positively.

  • Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Evening Shift: 3pm-1130pm

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
  • Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
  • Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
