An internship coordinator most commonly works at a college or university to help students find positions with prospective employers. Your responsibilities include assessing job seekers to determine which candidates are the right fit, acting as the liaison between the parties, and tapping into marketing strategies to match candidates with the needs of the company or organization. Other employment opportunities exist with businesses who handle these tasks internally in their human resources department. The work is typically full-time during regular business hours and often involves occasional travel to attend job fairs and other events.

What does an internship coordinator do?

An Internship Coordinator oversees and manages internship programs within an organization, school, or university. They are responsible for connecting students or candidates with appropriate internship opportunities, ensuring both the interns and host organizations have a positive and productive experience. Their duties often include developing partnerships with employers, coordinating interviews, providing guidance to students, and ensuring that internships meet educational and legal requirements. Additionally, they may monitor intern progress, address any issues that arise, and facilitate communication between all parties involved.
