LOCATION: Beavercreek, OH, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) area
REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

WHO CAN APPLY:
The DoW SkillBridge program is for active-duty service members and select groups of the National Guard and the Reserves within 180-days of their separation date. Interested service members must gain approval from their unit commander to participate. Specifically, they must seek approval from the first commander in their chain of command in the pay grade of O-4 or above.

INTERNSHIP PURPOSE:
The BTAS Program Management Internship is structured to provide transitioning Service Members with practical, hands-on experience aligned with the competencies required to support Department of Defense (War) programs. This SkillBridge Internship is designed to bridge military experience with industry-standard program management practices through a disciplined, outcomes-driven approach.
The BTAS program focuses on developing proficiency across the five core elements of Program Management: Contract Requirements, Staffing, Performance Work Statement (PWS) Execution, Quality Management, and Customer Relations. Participants will gain the ability to interpret contractual obligations and translate them into executable program activities that support mission success.
Key outcomes of this program include the ability to manage Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), support structured program governance, and contribute to workforce alignment through objective setting and performance assessment practices. Participants will also develop foundational skills in subcontractor and prime contractor coordination, ensuring effective communication and accountability across all program stakeholders.
Additionally, the program emphasizes professional customer engagement, preparing participants to support program reviews, status reporting, and routine interactions with Government representatives. The internship also incorporates continuous improvement practices through participation in a Program Management Center of Excellence, enabling exposure to standardized processes, knowledge management, and operational best practices.
Upon completion, participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and applied experience necessary to contribute effectively in a Program Management role within a government contracting environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Professional office setting; standard office equipment used regularly.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 80%).
TRAVEL:
Minimal travel required (< 5%.)
