Privacy Litigation Associate Attorney

Locations: Denver, Colorado; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; San Diego, California; San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington

Direct Counsel is seeking a Privacy Litigation Associate to join a leading international law firm’s highly regarded Privacy Litigation Group. This is an opportunity for a mid-level litigator to work on some of the most significant and high-profile privacy, data security, and technology-related class actions and investigations in the country.

The firm is widely recognized for defending complex, high-stakes privacy disputes involving cutting-edge legal issues at the intersection of technology, consumer protection, and regulatory enforcement. Associates gain meaningful responsibility in cases that often carry significant reputational and business implications for global clients.

Responsibilities
  • Defend clients in privacy and data security class actions, including data breach litigation
  • Handle matters involving state and federal privacy statutes and consumer protection laws
  • Support and lead responses to regulatory investigations and attorney general enforcement actions
  • Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
  • Manage discovery, including e-discovery workflows and document review
  • Take and defend depositions and participate in expert discovery
  • Work closely with clients on case strategy and risk mitigation
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience
  • Strong background in privacy, data security, class actions, or complex commercial litigation
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
  • Experience managing significant litigation matters and discovery processes
  • Strong teamwork and case management skills
  • Admission to the California Bar or New York Bar

Salary Range: $260,000 – $365,000 annually
