This academic internship will allow the intern to receive real world, hands on experience with the administrative side of running multiple athletic events.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
- Game Day Setup: Coordinate and execute pre-event logistics, facility transformations, and equipment staging for home athletic events to ensure compliance with NAIA and conference regulations. (NACE Competencies: Leadership, Critical Thinking)
- Game Day Operations: Oversee live event workflows, troubleshoot real-time operational challenges, and assist in managing event logistics to deliver a seamless experience for student-athletes, officials, and spectators. (NACE Competencies: Critical Thinking, Teamwork)
- Game Day Tear Down: Direct post-event breakdown procedures, secure athletic equipment, and conduct facility post-checks to restore competition spaces efficiently. (NACE Competencies: Professionalism, Leadership)
- Ticket Gate Operations: Manage front-facing guest services, ticket distribution, gate admission procedures, and point-of-sale operations while delivering professional customer service. (NACE Competencies: Professionalism, Communication)
- Operating the Clock / Official Scoring: Serve as a core member of the gameday table staff by accurately operating scoreboards, official game clocks, and statistical timing systems under high-pressure game conditions. (NACE Competencies: Critical Thinking, Professionalism)
