Job description

Elevate Semiconductor is excited to offer a Summer Engineering Internship program designed for motivated students pursuing careers in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related fields. This internship provides hands-on experience in the semiconductor industry, working alongside experienced engineers on projects that support product development, testing, and manufacturing.

Applications Engineers serve as the technical bridge between customers and product development teams, helping customers successfully implement solutions while providing valuable feedback that drives product improvements and innovation.

During the internship, you will gain valuable practical knowledge, develop technical skills, and contribute to meaningful projects that have a direct impact on Elevate Semiconductor's innovative product line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineering teams with testing and characterization of semiconductor devices and integrated circuits.
  • Support lab activities including equipment setup, data collection, and analysis.
  • Participate in debugging and troubleshooting test hardware and software.
  • Contribute to documentation of test procedures, results, and findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and product improvements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Must be a current junior graduating in 2027
  • Strong interest in semiconductor technology, product engineering, or test development.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework in electronics, circuit design, and test methodologies.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, or similar instrumentation.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, C/C++).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Must be able to work onsite in San Diego, CA for the duration of the internship.

This internship is a temporary position paid at $23 per hour. Interns are expected to work approximately 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer term. Based on performance and business needs, there may be opportunities to continue supporting the engineering team on a part time basis once the school year begins.
