Job Summary
JCS Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Information Assurance (IA) Cybersecurity Specialist responsible for delivering advanced network monitoring, analysis, and security operations in compliance with DoD Directive 8570.01-M. This role leads the implementation of robust IA policies, programs, and defensive strategies to protect enterprise systems and networks from evolving threats. The ideal candidate will oversee vulnerability management, incident detection and response, and the integration of secure system architectures, while guiding technical teams in resolving complex cybersecurity challenges. Responsibilities include managing intrusion detection and perimeter defense systems, evaluating security incidents and implementing corrective actions, and conducting forensic analysis to support investigations and strengthen future defenses. The position also supports certification and accreditation (C&A) activities, develops IA policies and procedures, and ensures alignment with DoD security frameworks and critical infrastructure requirements. Additionally, the candidate will assess emerging technologies, perform risk and cost-benefit analyses, and recommend security strategies that enhance overall organizational resilience and protection.

What you will do:
  • Perform network monitoring, analysis, and reporting per DoD Directive 8570.01-M
  • Lead and direct team personnel to solve complex IA problems
  • Identify IA requirements and assist in IA/IT budget formulation
  • Plan, integrate, and schedule installation of hardware and software
  • Supervise assessment and implementation of system patches and fixes
  • Guide implementation of IA security programs including boundary defense
  • Evaluate security violations and determine corrective action
  • Conduct computer forensics and follow-on analysis
  • Design perimeter defense systems including IDS and firewalls
  • Prepare and oversee IA certification and accreditation documentation

What you will bring:
  • BA/BS in a technical or managerial discipline
  • 10 years of experience in information assurance
  • CSSP Incident Responder, CSSP Auditor, or CSSP Manager certification
  • Knowledge of DoD Directive 8570.01-M requirements
  • Experience with network monitoring, analysis, and reporting
  • Experience designing intrusion detection systems and firewalls
  • Knowledge of computer forensics and incident response
  • Team leadership experience

  • Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret clearance strongly preferred
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA
