As part of W&M Fire & Security and the larger Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies, we believe that by investing in and empowering our employees as leaders, we build an organization that delivers innovative solutions and an exceptional customer experience. The unique blend of our people, culture, and ownership of results creates what we call the Davis-Ulmer Difference.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Junior Security CAD Technician to join our team in White Plains, NY. This is an entry-level role designed for someone with a CAD/drafting background who is eager to learn the specialized field of security system design. You'll work under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in designing access control, CCTV/video surveillance, and integrated security systems.
What You'll Do
- Assist in preparing CAD drawings: device layouts, wiring diagrams, conduit runs, and equipment elevations.
- Support senior CAD designers/engineers in creating submittals, product specs, and bills of materials.
- Maintain and organize drawing files, templates, and documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and make revisions as directed.
- Learn how security systems integrate with IT networks, electrical infrastructure, and other trades.
- Provide basic field support (site walks, as-built updates) under supervision.
- Design wiring schemes for typical devices and systems.
What We're Looking For:
- Certificate, diploma, or associate degree in CAD/Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office apps (Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical or networking principles.
- Familiarity with reading construction drawings.
- Travel to sites and be at those sites for days at times.
Nice to Have (but not required):
- Internship, co-op, or prior exposure to construction, low-voltage, or security projects.
- Knowledge of OHM's law
- Knowledge in micro-electronics
As part of the Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies, we believe that investing and empowering our employees as leaders develops an organization that delivers innovative solutions and services that create a superior customer experience. The unique blend of our leader's abilities and the ownership of their work, combined with our culture and values, creates something that is simply described as the Davis-Ulmer difference.
Why Choose Davis-Ulmer Family of Companies:
- Competitive Compensation: We offer competitive pay rates for experienced professionals, ensuring your skills are recognized and rewarded appropriately.
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Enjoy an industry-leading benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and additional perks, ensuring your health and well-being are taken care of.

Embracing a culture of collaboration, we unite to share knowledge, resources, and best practices across our network of branches. This collective approach strengthens us as a cohesive group, amplifying our impact far beyond what any individual business unit could achieve alone.
- Backed by APi Group: As a subsidiary of APi Group, a publicly traded, multi-billion-dollar corporation headquartered in Minnesota, we provide the financial stability and support needed for success. Benefit from world-class training and leadership development opportunities, backed by a powerhouse in the Fire Life Safety & Security industry.
- Long-Term Career Relationships: Many of our employees have been with us for 20+ years! We believe in investing in the right people, fostering enduring professional relationships that benefit both individuals and the company alike. Join us and become part of a community where your dedication is recognized and valued for the long term.
- Values Match: We prioritize hiring individuals whose values align with ours. Our commitment to value-driven recruitment is a cornerstone of our People/Talent Development Operating Code.
