About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Department Manager to oversee a team of engineering design professionals, interns, and co-op staff supporting complex EPC and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring deliverables are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

The Department Manager will provide administrative leadership, workforce planning, training oversight, and operational management while partnering closely with leadership teams to drive departmental success and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with company leadership to establish departmental goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives
  • Manage staffing, workload balancing, and resource allocation across projects and operational tasks
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance objectives and career growth
  • Develop and implement training programs to strengthen technical, operational, and leadership capabilities within the department
  • Conduct regular employee performance reviews using established KPIs and operational metrics
  • Monitor and evaluate:
    • On-time completion of tasks and projects
    • Budget adherence and resource utilization
    • Quality and accuracy of deliverables
    • Team collaboration and communication effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls, Process Engineering, or related field)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supervising and managing large office-based teams, including staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, training programs, and operational oversight
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, maintain high productivity standards, and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Strong knowledge of business operations, scheduling, workforce planning, and resource management
  • Ability to interpret organizational goals and implement best practices to support operational success
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
