If you plan to meet (or have already met) Milliman's Milwaukee P&C practice during an on-campus recruiting event at your school, please apply to this posting!
The Opportunity

Milliman’s Milwaukee-based Property and Casualty practice is one of the leading teams of experts in P&C insurance matters. We advise clients on a wide range of issues – from estimating loss reserves to developing rating plans and evaluating mortgage collateral for government agencies, mortgage lenders, and investors. Our consulting work is supported by a powerful toolkit of analytics software solutions. As innovators in risk assessment, Milliman embraces technology and builds renowned data-driven tools that evaluate risk for a wide variety of applications.

Our practice welcomes motivated college students pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree to be part of our summer actuarial internship program. We offer competitive pay and the opportunity to work on challenging projects with practical on-the-job experience. As a summer intern, you’ll work right alongside Milliman consultants who are leading experts in the property and casualty insurance industry, including those in senior management. You’ll be welcome at professional staff meetings, department meetings, and a variety of practice-wide and intern-specific social events.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with project teams on data analyses, create portions of client deliverables, perform peer review (“checking”), etc.
  • Develop professional skills such as communication, task management, and presenting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including senior consultants and principals.
  • Receive mentorship and actionable feedback to support your career development.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and social events designed for our interns.
  • Build strong technical skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, etc.

Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman, now or in the future. This includes international students.

What We Are Looking For

Professional Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field, with at least one semester of school remaining.
  • At least one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
  • Experience with programming or statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, VBA) is a plus.

Individual(s) must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for any immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.

Personal Qualifications

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with close attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively on multiple teams simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability and willingness to clearly articulate questions and ideas.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
  • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about risk, actuarial work, and Milliman’s mission.
  • Self-starter with effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Inspired to contribute to the success of projects and the team.

Location

This position will be based out of the Milliman office in Brookfield, WI. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite in this office full-time during the internship. A housing stipend will be provided. The expected application deadline for this job is October 16, 2026.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Confidential support for personal and work-related challenges.
  • 401(k) Plan – When an employee reaches 1,000 hours worked within 12 consecutive months, they become eligible for a 401(k) plan that includes a company matching program and profit-sharing contributions.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) – Begins accruing on the first day of work; Interns, Temporary, and Seasonal Employees will earn PTO each pay period, based on 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
