Position Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and execution of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects. They are also responsible for developing design alternatives and innovative solutions to issues that arise on these projects. This position also ensures code compliance, and alignment with design specifications for the duration of the project. The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as a technical leader, mentor, and key liaison between engineering, project management, and field operations.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Create design drawings for projects
  • Publish specifications for projects
  • Perform breaker coordination studies, short circuit calculations, and arc flash studies using SKM software
  • Mentor junior engineers, designers, and interns
  • Review work of Engineers to ensure accuracy
  • Oversee multiple projects including managing the associated Field Services, Design, and Construction Engineering teams
  • Work with field personnel to solve problems
  • Answer design and field questions related to system design and the National Electrical Code
  • Exemplify, promote and foster our vision of being Committed to Excellence through our Core Values of Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery
  • All other duties as assigned and required

Required Qualifications:
  • Thorough understanding of electrical construction
  • Knowledge in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam
  • Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Expertise with SKM Powertools
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and hard working
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited institution, OR
  • Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with electrical emphasis from ABET accredited institution
  • PE License required
  • Proficient with NEC
  • At least 10 years relevant experience including design team management

Preferred:
  • Strong knowledge of industrial design, including instrumentation
