Job description

Genesis CMF Designer

The CMF designer supports the design team in developing and executing color, material, and finish strategies from initial concept through production.  This role contributes to translating design ideas into material and surface solutions that enhance both aesthetic quality and user experience. Working closely with senior designers and cross-functional teams, the designer assists in research, concept development, sample creation, and production implementation, ensuring that CMF intent is maintained throughout the entire design process.  This position requires a strong sensitivity to color, texture, and material, as well as the ability to support team efforts in delivering cohesive and high -quality design outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Support the development of CMF concepts from initial idea through production
  • Assist in creating color palettes, material selections, and surface finish proposals
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, and emerging technologies
  • Prepare CFM presentation materials including mood boards, sample boards, and digital visuals
  • Support digital and visual communication of CMF concepts and design direction
  • Support the development, tracking, and organization of material samples
  • Collaborate across teams and partners to support design development and ensure alignment throughout the process
  • Travel domestically and internationally (10-20%) to support trend research, supplier visits, and production validation
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in industrial design, transportation design, textile design, interior design, or a related field
  • Related Industry Experience Requirements: 1-2 years of experience in CMF, product design, or a related field, or internship experience with a portfolio demonstrating the required skills and capabilities
  • Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and familiar with 3D visualization tools
  • Strong graphic and visual communication skills
  • Strong sensitivity to color, material, texture, and finish
  • Keen eye for detail and overall design quality
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (10-20%)
