Job description

Discover what’s possible in your career as a Hospital Medicine Physician in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

We believe in bringing "better" to our local community in Dyersburg—better care, better collaboration, and a deep commitment to the people we serve. We'd love to talk if you're looking for a role that supports your professional growth and connection to a vibrant community.

We are hiring for both a hospitalist and a nocturnist position. Our nocturnist role requires working exclusively overnight shifts. Nocturnist candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • We are seeking hospitalists and nocturnists to join our close-knit, well-established team of 8 physicians, 1 advanced practice provider (APP), and the invaluable support of a clinical performance nurse at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.
  • Our team meets monthly to review performance metrics, address group matters, and collaborate on solutions to improve patient care.
  • Work alongside a dedicated, high-performing team supported by a clinical performance nurse, with access to resources that foster individual and team success.

Qualifications:

  • Board certification or board eligibility in the relevant specialty.
  • A commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence, and providing patient-centered care.
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Scheduling:

  • We value work-life balance, with the option for a flexible schedule and a commitment to covering for one another when a team member is on leave. Our standard rotation is 7-days on and 7-days off, spanning Monday through Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care through a daily rounding model involving three providers, with an average patient census of 12-15 per provider. On-call periods include admissions ranging from zero to a maximum of four to five patients.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, general surgery, urology, GI, endocrinology, orthopedics, and wound care specialists. Collaborate with a dedicated nocturnist for 7p-7a coverage and work alongside advanced practice providers (APPs) from Bethel University to contribute to teaching and expanding educational services.
  • Engage in challenging cases within an open ICU setting, where our diverse services—such as interventional cardiology, pulmonology, and nephrology—support comprehensive patient care.

Living and Working in Dyersburg:

  • People are drawn to Dyersburg, Tennessee, for its serene, small-town atmosphere and the genuine sense of community that prevails. The town’s welcoming environment and affordable cost of living make it an ideal place to call home.
  • We are a community-minded team, encouraging members to make meaningful contributions both within the hospital and beyond. Together, we work to foster the health and well-being of Dyersburg, making a positive impact locally.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with opportunities for bonuses based on performance and growth.
