Job description

Butler Snow LLP is seeking candidates interested in joining our litigation team in the position of Counsel or Senior Counsel (title determination commensurate with experience) in our Huntsville or Birmingham, AL office. This team, primarily based in Huntsville and Birmingham, maintains a national practice with an emphasis on federal court class actions (link to overview - https://www.butlersnow.com/services/practice-areas/civil-rights). The firm is interested in candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

What you will do:

  • Be a strategic part of a defense litigation team committed to providing excellent representation to our clients
  • Participate in trial preparation include case strategy, discovery, records review, client and witness interviews
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare and argue motions
  • Write compelling and thoroughly researched briefs and legal memorandums
  • Research and analyze complex litigation areas

What you bring:

  • Experience in defense litigation;
  • Expertise in taking and defending depositions;
  • Ability to research and investigate complex litigation areas;
  • Excellent writing abilities
  • License to practice law in Alabama.
