Job description

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Lady Lake/The Villages is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer for their busy hotel! Compensation is based on experience. Must have open availability, including nights and weekends. Company benefits include health, vision, dental, PTO, 401k, employee discounts, and much more. 

Essential Job Functions

    • Oversees maintenance and operation of all building systems including HVAC, fire alarms, boilers, power systems, emergency generators, and utilities (internal and external).
    • Manages building aesthetics and coordinates remodeling/refurbishing projects, including labor and materials scheduling.
    • Schedules 24/7 preventative maintenance coverage and prepares work schedules based on occupancy forecasts.
    • Ensures compliance with building codes, OSHA safety standards, fire safety regulations, and implements energy conservation policies.
    • Conducts regular departmental meetings and staff training in line with Auro Hotels’ and brand standards, including emergency procedures and safe practices.
    • Coordinates with contractors, public agencies, and department heads on new construction, budgeting, and procurement for Maintenance and Engineering.
    • Works closely with the General Manager to address hotel-wide operations, guest service, emergency preparedness, and staff performance appraisals.

        Experience/Education

        High school diploma required. Minimum 2 years' experience in a Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer position preferred. Experience with food and beverage equipment desirable. Certifications in the major engineering disciplines (electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing) preferred. Experience in pools, spas, AC, drywall, and plumbing is required. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
