Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Chief Power Electronics Engineer. Relocation offered.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $154000 - $225000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you'll do:
The Power Electronics Center of Excellence at Eaton is a catalyst for the company's growth, driving innovation through the creation of scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable power electronics technology, platforms, and standardized design methodologies. These common building blocks can be adopted across various business units, laying a solid foundation for rapid product development.
This individual will be responsible for offering technical leadership, shaping and steering major changes in projects or programs, and providing authoritative insight and decisions for projects or programs. Position requires up to 15% travel domestic and international.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead power electronics design and development, taking full ownership of assigned tasks or projects.
• Design, model, simulate, and develop power electronics, including analog and digital circuits for power conversion and protection.
• Develop technical requirements and create reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineers to develop and validate designs.
• Guides and nurtures other PE engineers to enhance their technical skills and experience.
• Supports the development of PE CoE strategy, direction, and priorities.
• Keeps abreast of the latest power electronics technologies and business trends, applies this knowledge to power conversion and protection, and identifies new opportunities.
• Promotes engineering excellence in both the PE CoE and the BU's teams.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
-Minimum 12 years of industry experience in power electronics designs and product development, including:
-Power electronics modeling, simulation, and analysis experience using tools like Simulink, SPICE, or PLECS.
-Hands-on experience with power converter hardware development and testing.
-Minimum 3 years of experience in leading teams or projects from a technical perspective.

Preferred Qualifications:
-MS or Ph.D. in engineering with focus on power electronics.
-Strong knowledge of power semiconductors, passive components (e.g., high-frequency magnetics, power capacitors), and analog/digital circuit designs.
-Experience with modern converter topologies, including AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC (both non-isolated and isolated).
-Thorough understanding of PCB layout, EMC/EMI design practices, voltage clearance/creepage requirements, and insulation/interconnection techniques.
-Familiar with compliance standards, including Military (MIL) standards.
-Familiar with engineering processes such as DFSS.
