Compensation Range: $102,000.00 - $120,000.00

Position Summary
The Senior R&D Engineer is responsible for leading advanced research initiatives, product development efforts, and complex engineering investigations that support innovation and long-term technology strategy. This role applies deep technical expertise in simulation, experimental design, and structured problem-solving to evaluate concepts, resolve critical engineering challenges, and enhance product performance.
This position collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure alignment between technical solutions, customer requirements, and business objectives. As a senior technical contributor, the role also provides mentorship, strengthens R&D capabilities, and promotes analytical rigor across the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead major research initiatives, prototype development, and new product development projects.
  • Perform advanced mechanical analysis, including FEA and CFD simulations.
  • Conduct and guide structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D and DMAIC.
  • Develop and execute experimental plans, including Design of Experiments (DOE), and analyze performance data.
  • Support prototype build, testing, instrumentation, and data collection activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams to align technical outcomes with business needs.
  • Develop validation plans and ensure thorough testing of designs and concepts.
  • Perform CAD modeling, drawing updates, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and design evaluations.
  • Document, present, and communicate technical findings to stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering technical development and best practices.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and support experimental setup and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies, including code of conduct and attendance expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
  • Master's Degree (preferred)

Minimum Experience
  • 5-7+ years of experience in R&D, product development, or advanced engineering analysis

Certifications (Preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months
