Job Title: Cell Therapy Lab Technician

Job Description

This Lab Technician role plays a vital part in the production of cutting-edge cellular therapies. The position suits individuals with a strong foundation in scientific principles and hands-on experience or a strong interest in cell culture techniques and aseptic processing within a fast-paced, regulated environment focused on innovation and quality. You will work in a GMP-regulated setting, gaining exposure to ISO Class-7 cleanroom operations, SOP authorship, deviation reporting, and client-facing tech transfer support.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic manufacturing activities in compliance with established procedures and maintain required aseptic qualifications.
• Support the production, formulation, and banking of cellular products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) standards.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating GMP documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records.
• Contribute to validation activities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process robustness and product quality.
• Participate in raw material handling, including receipt, verification, preparation, and storage of materials used in cell therapy manufacturing.
• Perform cell culture operations following established laboratory and sterile technique protocols.
• Maintain cleanroom standards and behaviors, including proper gowning, aseptic practices, and adherence to contamination control procedures.
• Operate and monitor laboratory instrumentation and equipment used in biomanufacturing processes, following applicable regulatory and safety guidelines.
• Document all activities accurately and timely in batch records, logs, and other controlled documents in alignment with regulatory expectations.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to support tech transfer, troubleshooting, and process optimization activities.
• Follow all safety procedures when working with biological and hazardous materials, including blood, tissues, needles, and specialized lab equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations and organizational goals.

Essential Skills

• 0–1 year of experience in biotechnology or cell therapy; relevant internship experience may be considered.
• Foundational knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing in a laboratory or cleanroom setting.
• Familiarity with cell culture techniques and cell biology concepts.
• Basic understanding of microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, and biology.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment following GMP and GDP standards.
• Proficiency in algebraic math to support calculations for formulations, dilutions, and process parameters.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and compliance.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Comfort working in cleanroom environments with exposure to hazardous and medical materials.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as biology, biotechnology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related discipline strongly preferred.
• Experience or coursework in biotechnology, cell biology, or related laboratory sciences.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practice (GDP), and relevant regulatory expectations.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and experience working in ISO Class-7 or similar cleanroom environments.
• Experience with batch record completion, review, and deviation reporting.
• Exposure to formulation activities and validation processes in a regulated environment.
• Comfort using laboratory instrumentation and equipment in a biomanufacturing or cell therapy setting.
• Understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling of biological materials.
• Interest in continuous improvement and learning within the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
• Ability to support client-facing tech transfer activities in a professional and collaborative manner.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Memphis,TN.
