Job description

Description:

Looking for a summer internship where you can gain hands-on experience, build meaningful connections, and contribute to cutting-edge agricultural technology?

Join Specialty Herd Solutions and play a key role in expanding awareness and demand for SmartSight among our customers across California. We are looking for a motivated, people-focused communicator who enjoys outreach, marketing, and turning conversations into opportunities. Over the 12 week internship program, you will introduce SmartSight technology to current dairy customers, schedule presentations, and help generate SmartSight proposals for interested customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a list of HoofStrong customers and prioritize outreach based on territory and opportunity.
  • Call dairy customers to introduce SmartSight, explain its value, and schedule presentations.
  • Deliver SmartSight presentations (in person or virtual) in conjunction with Account Manager or coordinate with the SmartSight team to do so.
  • Track outreach activity, customer responses, and proposal-ready leads in Salesforce.
  • Provide weekly progress updates to the Technical/Product Manager.
  • Represent HoofStrong and SmartSight professionally in all customer interactions.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Strong computer and communication skillsโ€”comfortable speaking on the phone and presenting to customers. Must be proficient with all Microsoft programs, and a quick learner with new software tools.
  • Interest in agriculture, dairy farming, animal health, or ag-tech (preferred but not required).
  • Knowledge or experience with dairy herd management best practices and software (preferred but not required).
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Basic marketing or customer outreach experience is a plus.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to dairies farms required.

What Youโ€™ll Gain

  • Real-world experience in agricultural technology marketing and customer engagement.
  • Direct exposure to dairy operations and the SmartSight value proposition.
  • Skills in outreach, communication, and lead generation.
  • A measurable accomplishment: driving new SmartSight opportunities and contributing to program growth.

About Specialty Herd Solutions

Specialty Herd Solutions was founded after recognizing the challenges dairy farmers faced using bagged copper sulfate for hoof care, leading to the development of an easier-to-use, more effective liquid solution. This innovation became the foundation of the company, followed shortly by the installation of its first automated footbath system. Today, Specialty Herd Solutions supports over 30% of U.S. dairy cows as a leading provider of automated hoof care technology. Driven by a mission to modernize animal care, the company delivers sustainable, customized solutions through strong partnershipsโ€”offering straightforward, no-hassle service with a focus on improving outcomes for cattle, farm employees, and dairy operations.
