This is a twelve (12) week paid internship program beginning May 2026. You must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.   SAN ANTONIO, TX 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven GIS Intern to support our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) initiatives in the Midstream Oil & Gas sector. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience applying geospatial tools in pipeline operations, asset tracking, and regulatory compliance.
You'll work closely with our GIS, engineering, and operations teams to support mapping and data management needs across a range of infrastructure projects.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Assist with the creation, editing, and maintenance of pipeline and facility GIS data.
    Support integrity management efforts by mapping pipeline inspection data (ILI, hydrotest, etc.).
    Contribute to the development of cartographic products, including alignment sheets and system maps.
    Integrate GPS field-collected data into enterprise GIS systems.
    Support web-based GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Online or enterprise Portal environments.
    Document GIS processes, workflows, and metadata.

 Required Skills:
    Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in GIS/ Geography
    Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro
    Understanding of geospatial data structures, coordinate systems, and basic cartography.
    Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and data.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Special Considerations:
    Exposure to the oil & gas industry, particularly midstream/pipeline operations.
    Familiarity with regulatory data such as HCA, Class Location, or MAOP.
    Experience working with linear referencing systems (LRS).
    Basic programming or scripting experience in Python or SQL.
    Familiarity with GPS/mobile data collection tools (e.g., Collector, Survey123).
