Job description

Calpine, a business unit of Constellation Energy Corporation (Nasdaq: CEG), is America's largest generator of electricity from natural gas and geothermal resources with operations in competitive power markets. With 79 energy facilities in operation, Calpine’s fleet has the capacity to generate approximately 27,000 MW of electricity – enough to power approximately 27 million homes. Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)

This supervised position will allow for a Supply Chain Services student who is interested in a career in the power industry to apply and enhance their knowledge. This position will require the individual to work a normal day shift. This job will be based out of the Calpine Corporation Corporate Office (Houston, Texas). This position may require office or work from home hours.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with contract renewals
  • Assist with spend data and contract clause evaluations prior to renewals
  • Assess Supplier Record in ISN and D&B and provide results to the contracts, legal, insurance, and safety teams.
  • Monitor upcoming renewals and prepare amendments as needed
  • Review Supplier records in Coupa Supplier Portal as needed basis
  • Shadow Contracts Specialist on New Contract Negotiations

Job Requirements 

  • Pursuing Law Degree, at least Second Year Law Student
  • Prefer GPA of 3.25 or higher.
  • Qualified candidate must be a rising second or third year law student and be actively enrolled at an accredited law school at the time of internship.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future.
  • Full-time or part-time position
  • Excellent oral, written and communication/presentation skills
  • Has strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
  • Collaborates well with cross-functional group.
  • Good organization skills and attention to details are essential
