Job description

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Acute Care (Travel/Contract)

Shift: Day Shift | Rotating Days
Schedule: 5x8s | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Call: None
Weekend Requirement: Rotation required (approximately every 3rd Saturday/Sunday)


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with acute care experience to support adult patients in a fast-paced clinical setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, especially in swallowing assessments and instrumental evaluations.


Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience with adults

    • 1 year accepted if internship was completed in an acute setting

  • Must be proficient in Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBS)

  • Experience with pediatric MBS is a strong plus

  • Active SLP license (state-specific as applicable)

  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bedside swallow evaluations and instrumental assessments (MBS)

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans

  • Collaborate with physicians, radiology, and care teams

  • Provide patient and family education on swallowing safety and strategies

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation


Schedule & Work Environment
  • Consistent day shift hours with rotating weekdays

  • No on-call responsibilities

  • Weekend rotation approximately every 3rd weekend
