Operations Lead & Business Manager (Head of Operations)

Location: McKinney, Texas (On-Site)
Reports To: Chief of Staff / Integrator
Direct Reports: Supply Chain Associate, Fulfillment Associate, Customer Service Associate


The Opportunity

Herbal Goodness is seeking an exceptional Operations Lead & Business Manager to help drive the next phase of our growth.


This is not a traditional operations role. We are looking for a builder, strategist, AI and tech-enthusiast, and operator who can help transform a fast-growing wellness company into a world-class organization with scalable systems, operational excellence, and strong profitability.


You will serve as the operational leader responsible for driving manufacturing, supply chain, inventory management, warehouse operations, fulfillment, quality systems, and process improvement.


Working closely with the Chief of Staff and CEO, you will play a key role in helping Herbal Goodness scale efficiently while maintaining our commitment to quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Leadership

Operational Leadership

  • Serve as the operational partner to the Chief of Staff and CEO.
  • Participate in strategic planning and execution of short-, medium-, and long-term company objectives.
  • Translate the company vision into operational execution plans.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that drive business growth and scalability.

Business Performance

  • Develop and monitor operational KPIs, scorecards, and reporting systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Cost Optimization & Profitability

  • Lead initiatives to reduce Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and improve gross margins.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies across procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, and fulfillment.
  • Support inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining service levels and product availability.

2. Manufacturing & Facility Operations

Manufacturing Leadership

  • Lead and oversee internal tea and liquid manufacturing operations.
  • Develop production schedules and capacity planning processes.
  • Ensure operational readiness for future manufacturing expansion.

Facility Management

  • Oversee warehouse operations, facility organization, safety, and process optimization.
  • Improve warehouse layout, inventory flow, and productivity.
  • Establish scalable systems to support future growth.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and dietary supplement manufacturing requirements.
  • Drive implementation and adherence to FDA 21 CFR Part 111 standards.
  • Maintain and improve quality management systems.
  • Support internal audits, supplier audits, and regulatory inspections.

Certifications

  • Lead and support efforts to obtain and maintain:
    • cGMP Certification
    • Organic Certification
    • SQF Certification
    • Other relevant quality certifications

ERP & Systems Ownership

  • Own and optimize ERP implementation across manufacturing, warehousing, inventory, and fulfillment operations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and process consistency across systems.

3. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Lead forecasting and inventory planning activities.
  • Minimize stock-outs while reducing excess inventory.
  • Improve inventory turns and cash flow performance.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and service agreements.
  • Ensure supplier compliance and quality standards.

Inventory Management

  • Establish strong inventory control processes.
  • Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation.
  • Manage inventory reductions and discontinued-product initiatives.

Fulfillment Operations

  • Oversee direct-to-consumer (DTC), Amazon, Walmart, wholesale, and retail fulfillment.
  • Improve shipping efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor freight costs and logistics performance.

4. Team Leadership & Development

People Leadership

  • Lead warehouse, fulfillment, manufacturing, customer service, and supply chain teams.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership.

Performance Management

  • Develop departmental KPIs and EOS Rocks.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
  • Ensure alignment between departmental goals and company objectives.

SOP Development

  • Build and maintain scalable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Drive process documentation and operational consistency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5–7+ years of leadership experience in:
    • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
