ABOUT PROJECT-BASED INTERNSHIP
This internship program introduces motivated students and recent grads to life inside a sports nutrition company, develops Business Intelligence skills, and brings fresh thinking to our work at GU Energy Labs.
We offer hands-on work experience on real projects, and exposure to a great company culture that is friendly, fun, and encourages a healthy and active life!
DETAILS
This is a full-time, project-based, internship within our Finance & Accounting Department. This is an exciting opportunity for those interested in analytics and business intelligence. The intern will complete a full-cycle Business Intelligence project from start to finish - including gathering requirements from stakeholders, sourcing and validating relevant data, performing ETL (extract, transform, load) processes, and building an interactive dashboard or visualization in Domo or another Business Intelligence platform. The project will emphasize real-world application and autonomy, while under structured mentorship. See qualifications below for skills needed.
This is a project-based internship program, not by semester or year-round. This is a full-time internship based out of our Berkeley HQ, Monday-Friday from 9 - 5.
The tentative start date for this internship is within the first two weeks of June.
We have a limited number of internships available each year - if you are interested, we suggest applying ASAP as the pool is competitive.
QUALIFICATIONS
For this particular project, proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required along with a basic understanding of SQL.Knowledge of data structures is a plus!
In order to qualify for GU's Internship Program, you must be...

  • at least 18 years of age AND...
  • legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer
  • be based in California during internship and be able to commute to Berkeley, CA
  • enrolled (or pending enrollment) in college OR
  • a recent graduate (2 years post undergraduate or graduate degree)
TERMS
  • This is a paid internship and subject to the at-will nature of employment at Advanced Food Concepts, Inc., "GU Energy Labs." If accepted and placed, you will receive an individual acceptance offer letter which further details the terms and your rate of pay.
  • Interns are typically not eligible for company benefits, they may however be eligible to participate in some of the on-site wellness programs.
  • Interns will be required to submit a written summary about their experience at the end of their internship.
  • This program does not proactively provide educational credits. If you are participating in a college or university program that accepts our program and provides educational credit for it, GU can provide verification of completion.
