Business Continuity Manager (COOP & Disaster Recovery)

We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity Manager to lead enterprise-wide Business Continuity (BC), Continuity of Operations (COOP), and Disaster Recovery (DR) initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring organizational resilience, minimizing operational disruptions, and coordinating recovery efforts across multiple vendors and business units.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of Business Continuity, COOP, and Disaster Recovery programs.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), risk assessments, and continuity planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain recovery plans, crisis management procedures, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery testing, tabletop exercises, failover testing, and after-action reviews.
  • Partner with IT teams and vendors to support recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).
  • Oversee backup, replication, and recovery processes across multiple environments.
  • Lead continuity and recovery efforts during incidents and outages.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, industry, and internal standards.
  • Provide training and guidance on business continuity and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Deliver readiness metrics, risk reporting, and executive-level updates.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of COOP methodologies, disaster recovery frameworks, and industry standards such as ISO 22301, NIST, and FEMA.
  • Experience conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and enterprise risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
  • Knowledge of backup and replication technologies including Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Zerto, or similar solutions.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams during planning and incident response activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience working in multi-vendor environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks including HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001.
  • Experience developing disaster recovery playbooks and leading recovery exercises.
  • Understanding of Medicaid or healthcare environments is highly desired.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Emergency Management, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Additional Requirements
  • U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders only.
  • No sponsorship available now or in the future.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Montgomery, Alabama.
  • Background check and drug screening required.
