Senior Business Analyst - Third Party Risk Management (TPRM)

About the Role:

Capital One is seeking a highly motivated, strategic and analytically adept Senior Business Analyst to join our Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) team. Sitting within the Operational Risk Management (ORM) second line of defense, our team provides value-add, independent stewardship of Capital One’s Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Program.

As a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, you will balance day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) responsibilities with high-impact, long-term strategic initiatives. You are someone who excels at solving problems, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and translating data into actionable risk insights.

Key Responsibilities: Data Management & Reporting
  • Data Leverage: Build and maintain sophisticated reports using platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, QuickSight,Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Technical Execution: Utilize SQL, advanced formulas, and data manipulation techniques to extract and analyze risk data.

  • Insight Generation: Analyze data sets to proactively identify emerging risks, trends, and gaps, translating data into meaningful business intelligence.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Influence
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Foster seamless, integrated risk experiences by bridging gaps between various internal risk teams and business partners.

  • Project Coordination: Manage simultaneous projects, leveraging and influencing stakeholders across the enterprise to drive risk informed decisions.

  • Relationship Building: Develop strong, trusted relationships with key partners to foster a collaborative culture of proactive risk management.

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis

    • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)

    • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building
  • 1+ years of experience in market research
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in consulting

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst
McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900 for Sr. Business Analyst
Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst
Riverwoods, IL: $101,100 - $115,400 for Sr. Business Analyst

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
