Job description

Regions is looking to hire a Nurse Clinician IRTS to join our Behavioral Health team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.  

 

Position Summary:

The Nurse position is a member of the Community Support Programs team. The nurse is responsible to provide monitoring and supervision of staff performing medication administration. Nurse positions provide support to the medical policies and procedures within the program. This position provides medical oversight on the program health services to residents including medication administration, storage and health services. This position is responsible to provide staff with training, support and oversight to the policies and procedures to maintain quality of care and compliance. The nurse position provides care coordination and case management for medication, psychiatric, medical, dental and health needs of residents. This position provides individual and group services through patient assessment, cares and coordination and group education services. Nurse position plays a vital role in the recovery plan for the resident's treatment and discharge plan and coordinates with resident and treatment team on needs and recommendations.

 

Work Schedule:

3:00pm to 11:30pm weekdays and every other weekend rotation

 

Required Qualifications:

Education

Completed degree in Nursing

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification

Current MN RN

Experience

Must meet ONE the following qualifications:

  1.  Work experience of 4,000 hours in the delivery of services to individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder; Or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities.

 

  1. Coursework of at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and meets one of the following:

(1) has at least 2,000 hours in the delivery of services to individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder; Or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness, client recovery and resiliency, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder, and psychotropic medications and side effects (Department to track)

(2) has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.

(3) is in process of completing a practicum or internship as part of a formal undergraduate or graduate training program in social work, psychology or counseling.

 

  1. Master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related field.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to pass the DHS Background Study
  • Ability to operate computer programs including Epic, Outlook, MS Office
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in professional ethics and values aligned with organizational values including compassion, caring, and empathy.
  • Teamwork, time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage high levels of stress including ability to work with patients with difficult emotional, behavioral problems and, or mental illness symptoms and respond with person centered and trauma informed approach.
  • Able to seek clinical supervision weekly and as needed.
  • Knowledge of community resources (i.e. placement, community-based treatment options)
  • Ability to effectively implement best practice and evidence-based services.
  • Knowledge of county, state and federal regulations, i.e. healthcare funding, civil commitments, child abuse, vulnerable adults and mandated reporting laws.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, families, co-workers and community organizations.
  • Competence in diversity and inclusion.
  • Ethics and ability to treat others with compassion, caring, and empathy.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic and continuously changing healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with psychiatric medications, side effects, diagnosis, treatment and co-morbid conditions
  • Familiarity with psychotropic medications and side effects
