Job Summary (Basic Functions): The Quality Intern will support the Quality Team in daily quality assurance and quality system activities for cathode material manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on experience in quality documentation, data analysis, inspection support, laboratory coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will work closely with Quality Engineers and cross-functional teams to support product quality, process control, and compliance activities.
This position is based full-time in Clarksville, TN and is not a remote role.
What You’ll Be Doing
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):
Quality Documentation Support
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing quality documents, including SOPs, work instructions, inspection standards, and forms
- Supporting document control activities within the quality management system
- Help maintain revision history and document tracking records
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, organize, and analyze quality-related data
- Support preparation of quality KPI reports, trend analysis, and performance summaries
- Assist in identifying abnormal trends and preparing summary reports for review
Inspection & Quality Assurance Support
- Assist with incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspection activities
- Support sample management, retention sample organization, and inspection record maintenance
- Help verify inspection documentation completeness and traceability
Laboratory & Analytical Support
- Support analytical sample preparation, labeling, and tracking
- Assist with laboratory organization, consumables inventory management, and equipment readiness checks
- Coordinate with analytical quality engineers for testing support activities

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry or similar.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in laboratory or manufacturing quality environment preferred, but not mandatory if strong learning attitude is demonstrated.
- Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry, reporting).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends if required.
- Willingness to wear PPE (safety shoes, glasses, masks, gloves, gowns, hearing protection, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating or supervising analytical instruments (ICP-OES, XRF, SEM, PSD, BET, XRD, titrator, tap density, coin cell assembly).
- Previous experience in chemical, battery, powder, or materials QC environment.
- Familiarity with ISO/IATF quality standards and document control.
- Experience supporting audits, sample shipment, or consumables management.
