Required skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is preferred or degree in a related engineering field.
  • Previous experience in product development.
  • Industry-specific product experience is preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control protocols.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be dependable and able to work extended hours before and after shifts.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills; can accurately define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Has excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Must be flexible, assertive, stress tolerant, and optimistic.
  • Must have strong bias for action and generating results.

The role requires the ability to:

  • Balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches to work overhead.
  • Pushes/pulls fabrication materials and components by hand and/or with material handling equipment.
  • Sits and stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks.
  • Operates a computer extensively daily.
  • Requires visual acuity to access details (I.e., office equipment, email, invoices, etc.)
  • Requires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and/or quickly and understood.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds to understand instructions and/or directions.
