Job description

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

For complete program details, please go to our website:www.berklee.edu/se.Under the supervision of the Student Finance Manager, the Student Finance Assistant role is multifaceted, performing a variety of financial and operational functions supporting the day-to-day tasks of the Berklee division of Pre-College, Online, and Professional Programs (POPP) Finance team and supporting Berklee Online students. This position offers the opportunity to gain key work experience for future internships and job opportunities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Compile financial reports using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Enter financial transactions with accuracy, including refunds, payments, and vouchers
  • Contact students via email and phone regarding account credits, outstanding balances due, and refund or payment instructions
  • Follow up with third party payers regarding outstanding invoices
  • Update biographic information in multiple information systems
  • Review and edit HTML email templates in Salesforce
  • Assist with incoming email and phone communications from prospective and current students and families as needed
  • Provide information about available financial aid and payment options
  • Assist with account-related questions regarding tuition statements, payments, payment plans, balances, financial holds, refunds, and 1098-T tax documents
  • Record holiday out of office voicemail greetings
  • Assist students with financial policy questions related to add/drop procedures and refunds
  • Audit and analyze students accounts to verify the information is current and accurate
  • Assist the Military Affairs teams with data collection, data entry, and account audits as needed
  • Perform special projects and create ad-hoc reports as requested
Required Skills and Knowledge:
