Tech & Ops Program Summer 2027 - Analytics Intern

Program Overview

As an Analytics Intern, you will apply data and analytical thinking to solve real business challenges. You'll work at the intersection of business and technology-using data to uncover insights, influence decisions, and drive measurable outcomes across the organization.

About the Experience

This immersive summer program within The Hartford's Technology, Data, AI, and Operations organization provides hands-on experience in analytics, business intelligence, and data-driven decision-making.

As part of our growing investment in AI and advanced analytics, interns will explore how technologies such as generative AI, machine learning, and automation are transforming business operations, customer experience, and decision-making.

You'll gain real-world experience working with data, collaborating with business partners, and delivering insights that matter.
You will engage in meaningful work, mentorship, and experience with an emphasis on professional growth and development, and networking opportunities.

This role is a hybrid position in Hartford, CT. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate students expecting to graduate in May 2028 with a bachelor's or master's degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Informatics, Statistics, or other STEM-related and/or analytical majors
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights to support business decisions
  • Commitment to ethical decision-making and responsible use of data

Experience and exposure to some or all of the following:

  • Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Exposure to statistics, regression analysis, or experimentation (A/B testing)
  • Experience with data wrangling and data preparation techniques
  • Familiarity with business intelligence concepts such as KPIs and dashboards
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) and interest in applying them to analytics use cases

Our internship program is designed as a pipeline for future full-time opportunities. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles within The Hartford's Technology & Data organization.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
