Internship Opportunities at Huntington:

Huntington offers internship opportunities for students who are currently enrolled in an academic program and seeking practical, hands‑on experience in their field of study.  Internships take place during a defined period of time and are available across all business segments.

• Rising juniors (Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads) may participate in Huntington's Foundations Program, an 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry.
• Rising seniors (Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 grads) may participate in the Enterprise Internship Program, an 11-week, role-aligned experience where students work directly with a manager and team on meaningful business initiatives. In addition to hands-on project work, participants gain exposure to executive leadership, participate in Huntington's innovation project, and build connections that may lead to future full-time opportunities.

All interns participate in a variety of developmental and professional activities designed to support learning and exposure to the organization. Depending on your school year, program components may include:

• Experience in day‑to‑day responsibilities related to their assigned team
• Exposure to broader business functions
• A structured schedule of professional development sessions
• Opportunities to engage with members of the Executive Leadership Team
• Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington’s business areas
• A team project focused on applying Huntington’s innovation framework to a business‑relevant problem
• Participation in volunteer activities and internal events aligned with Huntington’s culture

Consumer Finance Internship Overview

Within Consumer Finance, interns gain exposure to the products, services, and strategies that help individuals achieve their financial goals through lending, banking, and financial wellness solutions. Students collaborate with experienced professionals on meaningful projects while developing knowledge of consumer lending, customer insights, risk management, product development, and business operations. Opportunities may include exposure to data analysis, customer experience initiatives, process improvement projects, and market research. Successful candidates are curious, collaborative, and interested in learning more about careers in consumer financial services.

Opportunities may include exposure to vehicle and consumer lending, mortgage products and processes, credit analysis, underwriting fundamentals, risk ratings, pricing and spreads, portfolio management, and customer relationship strategies. Interns may support projects involving financial analysis, market and consumer research, credit risk assessments, lending operations, process improvement initiatives, and data-driven decision-making. Through cross-functional collaboration, students gain insight into how consumer finance teams evaluate risk, structure lending solutions, and deliver products that help customers achieve their financial goals.

Huntington Consumer Finance Internships positions will be in either Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI or Minneapolis, Minnesota.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:

• High School graduate
• Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice® applications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
• Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
• Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
• Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
• A strong interest in Banking as a career
• Relevant Majors: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Services, Banking, Risk Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related business and quantitative disciplines are encouraged to apply. Other majors with a strong interest in financial services, lending, and consumer banking may also be considered

• Relevant Coursework: Applicable coursework may include Corporate Finance, Consumer Lending, Credit Analysis, Financial Markets and Institutions, Risk Management, Banking Operations, Accounting Principles, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Financial Modeling, and Business Strategy. Coursework involving lending, underwriting, or portfolio management.

• Preferred Skills & Interests: Successful candidates demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, along with an interest in consumer lending, vehicle finance, mortgage products, credit risk, and financial services. Students should be comfortable working with data, interpreting financial information, and communicating insights effectively. Curiosity, attention to detail, collaboration, adaptability, and a desire to learn about credit analysis, risk ratings, pricing, spreads, and customer-focused financial solutions are highly valued.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position.  Colleagues in Intern positions are eligible for paid holidays and Huntington’s retirement savings plan.
