Job description


Industrial Engineer Intern
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in various aspects of industrial engineering, including process optimization, data analysis, and project management. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to ongoing projects and learn about best practices in the field.
Internship Includes:
  • Base pay of $23.00/hr
  • Monthly housing stipend of $1k net
  • Real-world experience that provides a competitive edge upon graduation
  • Casual work environment
  • Networking with leadership and functional plant leaders.
  • Assignment time frame: Summer (May - August) with opportunity to work during the following school year.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the analysis and improvement of production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support the development and implementation of process maps and workflow diagrams.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process enhancements.
  • Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling and tracking project milestones.
  • Document findings and prepare reports to communicate results to the engineering team.
  • Up to 20% travel required (if needed).

Qualifications:
  • Must have completed 90 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2024 semester
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
  • Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
  • Preferred majors: Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Metallurgy
  • Must be legally authorized to work at a company in the U.S. or Canada without sponsorship.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently.

Working Conditions
  • Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
  • Work is mainly performed in an office setting, with some time spent in a manufacturing environment
