About the job

As an Enablement and Integration Engineer on the SAS Managed Cloud Activation and Enablement Services team, youwillonboard, migrate, and upgrade customers across hosted and remote managed environments.

You will use your technical expertise to install, integrate, manage, and troubleshoot SAS and third‑party enterprise software solutions. Working with customers, developers, analysts, implementation teams, R&D, and vendors, you will help define technical requirements, resolve delivery risks, and ensure solutions meet customer needs and SAS hosting standards.

You will also support sales opportunity reviews, conduct upgrade and migration planning, estimate costs, update documentation, and process ad‑hoc operational requests. As a customer advocate, you will help improve our tools, processes, and services while enabling customers to maximize the value of their SAS investment.

Asan Enablement Integration Engineer, you will:
  • Lead the technical onboarding, migration, and upgrade of SAS Managed Cloud customers across hosted and remote managed environments.

  • Define and validate project scope, confirm requests align with downstream team capabilities, identify required resources, and address technical risks or roadblocks.

  • Install, configure, integrate, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot SAS and third‑party enterprise software based on technical documentation and customer requirements.

  • Collaborate directly with customers, analysts, developers, implementation teams, support organizations, R&D, and third‑party vendors to deliver effective technical solutions.

  • Review sales opportunities before contract finalization to ensure proposed technologies-including Kubernetes, cloud storage, networking, and identity and access management-meet customer requirements and SAS hosting standards.

  • Evaluate and plan upgrades and migrations for hosted SAS environments, ensuring software compatibility, operational readiness, and minimal customer disruption.

  • Develop infrastructure, software, and service cost estimates to support accurate planning, budgeting, and project profitability tracking.

  • Maintain technical and operational documentation while improving tools, processes, services, and delivery capabilities.

  • Manage operational and ad‑hoc requests through Jira and ServiceNow, including software order reviews, server decommissioning, CMDB updates, and documentation changes.

  • Serve as a customer advocate by communicating clearly with global internal and external stakeholders and helping customers maximize the value of their SAS investment.

  • Contribute to team success by sharing knowledge, mentoring colleagues, removing obstacles, and identifying innovative ways to improve the customer and employee experience.

  • Develop technical expertise through hands‑on learning, collaboration with R&D, cross‑team assignments, and individualized professional development plans.

  • Work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, when required to support global customers and critical delivery activities.

Required qualifications
  • US Citizen required.

  • 5+ years of experience with UNIX or Linux supporting enterprise class applications and experience with complex architectures within Cloud and Hosting Technologies (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.) PowerShell, Unix shell scripting and debugging.

  • 1 year of experience with Kubernetes, container‑based applications, and/or container orchestration tools

  • 5+ years of experience in systems support, users support, customer support, consulting or training for enterprise class software and/or hardware.

  • 2+ years in end user and system administrator consulting or providing other first‑level consulting also required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field.

  • Technical knowledge of internal worktings, diagnostic tools and features of complex systems.

  • Aptitude for visualization of solutions for complex problems.

  • Understand the interdependencies between multiple systems and software within a computing infrastructure.

  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.

  • Awareness/Experience in installing and using SAS software and solutions

  • Working knowledge of Python and Ansible for automation

  • ITSM Technologies (JIRA, ServiceNow) awareness and usage.
