Evaluation Intern

Milwaukee County Zoo

Hourly Pay Range: $15.00 – $20.04  

Job Summary: The Evaluation Intern assists with audience research and evaluation projects related to guest experience at the Zoo, which is primarily data collection for the Zoo’s annual exit survey. This is a guest-facing role, and the intern must also learn basic information about the Zoo to assist guests with questions. This internship provides opportunities to gain academic knowledge of evaluation or visitor studies practices in real-world projects.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Zoo Exit Survey Data Collection: Interview Zoo guests and accurately record both quantitative and qualitative data on a tablet.
  • Customer Service: Be aware of current and upcoming Zoo events. Provide accurate and helpful information to guests requesting information or assistance.
  • Evaluation Project: Assist with data collection for other studies as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a High School Diploma or a GED Equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of customer service experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Willing and able to work both weekdays and weekends, typically in four (4) hour afternoon shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate degree program in a related field.
    • Possession of an undergrad or graduate degree in a related field.

NOTE:  This Original application is open to qualified residents of the United States. Appointee must establish Wisconsin State residency within six (6) months of starting date. Candidates need to submit a full account of their training and experience (i.e., by submitting an up-to-date resume or by fully completing the application) during the application process and may also be asked to take additional written or performance tests as part of the selection process.
