Program Overview

SkillBridge Internship – Test Engineer. On‑site internship for transitioning service members, 6 months, 40 hours per week, with the goal of training and potential full‑time placement. Travel: minimal (<25%).

Responsibilities
  • Full life cycle product testing (unit, functional, integration) across various architectures.
  • Act as an individual contributor on an Agile Scrum team.
  • Support troubleshooting with development staff.
  • Contribute to software documentation.
  • Provide product demonstrations, gather user feedback, and provide UX input.
SkillBridge Eligibility
  • Served at least 180 days on active duty.
  • Within 12 months of separation or retirement.
  • Will receive an honorable discharge.
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.
  • Attended ethics brief in last 12 months.
  • Obtained unit commander written authorization prior to start.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years’ experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with 6 years of experience.
  • Experience developing test steps, cases, plans, and documents.
  • Experience mapping test steps to requirements.
  • User level experience with Linux and Windows OS.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, communication skills, team oriented.
  • U.S. citizen with a final Secret clearance.
  • Meets DoD SkillBridge qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with GCCS‑J as operator or system administrator.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration.
  • Experience with Windows client and server system administration.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices.
  • Experience executing functional/system/integration test cases.
  • Experience with automated software testing.
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and desire to research emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with automated container deployment and scanning.
  • Running performance tests and debugging techniques.
  • Understanding of networking and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Familiarity with Command and Control systems.
  • Top Secret / SCI clearance.
Compensation

Primary level salary range: $75,800.00 – $113,800.00.

Additional benefits include overtime eligibility, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off.
