Job description

Athletic Training Internship

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell is seeking a college or graduate-level Athletic Training student or a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide on-site athletic trainer coverage at athletic contests. This is a paid internship or per-game position designed to support student-athlete safety while offering meaningful clinical experience in a high school athletic setting. This role has the potential to grow into a more consistent or full-time position as the school expands its athletic health services in alignment with evolving MIAA expectations.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide athletic trainer coverage at home athletic events (initially winter basketball; spring sports opportunities available)
  • Conduct basic injury evaluation and first aid during games
  • Manage acute injury care (ice, compression, referral recommendations)
  • Communicate with coaches regarding injury status and return-to-play guidance
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for athletic health and safety during contests
  • Maintain a professional, student-centered environment

Qualifications:

  • Graduate student in Athletic Training (MAT), Physical Therapy (DPT with ATC), or related field preferred
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) encouraged to apply
  • Eligible for Massachusetts licensure or appropriate supervised practice
  • CPR/AED & First Aid certification required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Interest in secondary school athletics and professional development

Compensation:
